Project Overview
South East Water is an operational monitoring platform built for a city-wide water utility company to help their field and operations teams stay on top of meter health, consumption data, and network alerts. The system captures live data from thousands of IoT meters distributed across the city's water supply network, presenting it through an intuitive dashboard that enables operators to detect issues — from pressure drops to empty pipes — and act on them before they escalate. Designed for a broad user base ranging from field technicians to senior operators, accessibility and clarity were placed at the core of every design decision.
Challenge & Approach
The central challenge was translating a high volume of complex, real-time data into an experience that felt immediate and actionable — not overwhelming. Sadora designed a multi-layered dashboard that surfaces the most critical information first: live alarm counts, device status breakdowns, a geospatial heatmap for pressure and temperature anomalies, and SLA compliance metrics — all visible at a glance. The interface supports role-aware workflows with features like bulk alarm acknowledgement, customizable table columns, device-level drill-down, data parameter comparison, and a full approval queue for configuration and isolation requests. Special attention was given to color contrast and visual hierarchy to ensure usability across different levels of technical expertise and to accommodate visually impaired users.
